Work Arrangement
This position is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to the office three times per week or as dictated by the business needs.
The Role
The Customs Junior Analyst will prepare reports and analyses on GMNA Customs Imports, ensuring these are correctly and timely executed based on set standards and methodologies. The role includes following adequate compliance requirements and internal controls, acting as a repository of expertise in this functional area.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the necessary information for system uploads and SharePoint, for creation and solicitation.
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly workload statuses to Team Lead/Supervisor.
- Communicate fluently with GM US Business Partners, Brokers, and Third-Party Service Providers regarding any missing or incomplete information.
- Perform basic analysis and interpretation of related data to complete Customs output reports accurately.
- Ensure compliance with GM Corporate policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to performance metrics, root cause issues, and process improvements.
- Identify non-value-adding processes within the team and seek solutions.
- Prepare and update desk procedures as necessary.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Basic knowledge of Title 19 - Customs duties (US Code of Federal Regulation) and US Free Trade Agreements.
- High systems aptitude with knowledge of various GM Systems used for GMNA Imports, including TMSII, Cognos, Sterling, Microsoft Power BI.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Basic Macro and MS Access knowledge is a plus.
- Integrity and trust.
- Quick learner, self-directed, and detail-oriented.
- Self-starter with minimal supervision and good analytical skills.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively with others.
- Flexibility in work hours to accommodate US Time zone; must be willing to work mid shift (1:00 PM to 10:00 PM).
