Wood Mackenzie is recruiting a Natural Gas Junior Data Analyst (Research Associate) to join our natural gas market data analytics team in Mexico City. Our team maintains and analyses Wood Mackenzie's extensive proprietary and public datasets to research trends and build narratives using supporting data. You will work closely with some of the leading industry experts to deliver insights that influence markets.
The level of appointment within the company banding structure will depend on your skills, experience and capabilities demonstrated before the offer of employment.
The natural gas market data analytics team is accountable for delivering accurate, timely, and complete data to our products and provides insightful market analysis to clients. Each team member has a regional focus but collaborates to present a unified picture. In this role, you will professionally develop into an expert on all aspects of your region, starting with the foundational data of market research and continuing onto macro-economic forces that affect spot and future prices. You'll use both quantitative and qualitative techniques to understand the fundamentals of natural gas markets and analyze big data to support your insights. We communicate these insights to clients through our products and direct interaction. To thrive in this role, you should be creative, detail-oriented, and persistent.

Additionally, any experience with the subject matter and skillsets used by the team would be a plus but is not necessary. The subject matter focuses on natural gas supply & demand fundamentals and related datasets. The tools most used by the team include SQL, Python, Excel, and relational databases. However, we welcome any technical or industry knowledge and are always open to embracing new technologies, programming languages, and skillsets.
