Your Role and Responsibilities

As an L4 Data Management Engineer, you will:

  • Develop and sustain a scalable, cloud-based marketing infrastructure that supports optimal experiences for both customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Design robust data pipelines for both batch and real-time campaign functionality.
  • Lead the transformation of systems as we transition our infrastructure and applications to the cloud.
  • Enhance team proficiency with cloud-based data platforms.
  • Ensure the security and privacy of our cloud assets with top-tier measures.
  • Implement state-of-the-art automation and monitoring tools applying a test-driven mindset.
  • Pioneer the adoption of cutting-edge cloud technologies to further TELUS' data transformation agenda.

What You’ll Bring

Your experience and skills include:

  • Over 10 years in IT platform implementation in a technology-focused role.
  • At least 5 years’ experience with cloud architectures like GCP, Amazon, or Azure; familiarity with GCP is particularly advantageous.
  • Proven expertise in data warehouses, cloud architectures, and ETL processes using tools such as Spark, Airflow, or Google Workflows.
  • Advanced competence in SQL and experience with a variety of databases.
  • Proficiency in Python and adherence to software engineering best practices.
  • A track record of leading significant data platform projects.
  • Excellent strategic planning skills and the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Strong analytical abilities and a robust problem-solving attitude.

Great-to-Haves

  • Post-graduate education in Data Engineering, Cloud DevOps, or Advanced Analytics.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and data science.
