Lead Analytics Engineer - Join Our Data Solutions Team at MSD

We're seeking a Lead Analytics Engineer to join our Digital, Data & Analytics (HHDDA) organization and play an active role in our Human Health transformation.

Job Responsibilities

As a Lead Analytics Engineer, you will be an integral part of the HHDDA Commercial Data Solutions team. Your mission will involve the development of analytical data products to enable data science and analytics use cases. Key responsibilities include:

• Design and implement cutting-edge data products using the latest technologies and DevOps practices.
• Drive data modeling and feature engineering activities aligned with business needs.
• Develop deep domain expertise to handle data source specificities and pitfalls.
• Build automated data models for various use cases, advising data scientists and analysts on their application.
• Create reusable, governed, and compliant analytical data products.
• Support data stewards and engineers in maintaining data catalogs, quality measures, and governance frameworks.

Qualifications

Educational Background

B.Tech / B.S., M.Tech / M.S. or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, Data Science, Business, or a related field.

Required Experience

• 8+ years of relevant work experience in the pharmaceutical/life sciences industry.
• Proven expertise in analyzing, modeling, and extracting insights from commercial/marketing analytics datasets.
• High proficiency in SQL, Python, and AWS.
• Experience with data models for Marketing, Data Science, and Visualization stakeholders.
• Experience in cloud-based data management platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with modern data stack tools like Matillion, Starburst, ThoughtSpot, and low-code tools (e.g., Dataiku).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in pharmaceutical products and vaccines analytics use cases.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in analytics for marketing strategies and commercial execution.
• Experience working in Agile environments and scrum teams.
• AWS and modern data technologies certifications.
• Knowledge of commercial/marketing analytics data landscapes.
• Experience with data visualization technologies (e.g., PowerBI).
