The rapidly evolving Cyber landscape demands innovative research and development of emerging technologies to shape the future of CNO capabilities. The Leidos Office of Technology, within the Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA), is excited to invite a passionate Cyber Researcher & Developer to join our diverse team. As a part of our internal research and development portfolio focused on CNO, you will leverage your expertise in Vulnerability Research, Reverse Engineering, Software and Hardware Engineering, AI/ML, and Advanced Networking to tackle some of the most formidable challenges in the Cyber domain.

This pivotal role supports the growth of Cyber initiatives for both Leidos and CABA, requiring an individual who can effectively contribute to various projects, develop proof of concepts, and lead demonstrations. This position offers the flexibility of remote work; however, the ideal candidate should be able to work partially onsite in Reston, VA, or Columbia, MD.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Reverse Engineering and Vulnerability Research.
  • Research novel hardware or software-based CNO capabilities.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of security concepts and networks.
  • Explore systems to devise new features, vulnerabilities, and techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience focused on low-level development and CNO.
  • US Citizen with an active TS Security Clearance and a willingness to upgrade to TS/SCI with Poly.
  • Experience in at least three of the following areas:
    • System-level programming or embedded systems development.
    • Proficiency in C/C++ and Assembly for x86, PowerPC, MIPS, or ARM.
    • Expertise in reverse engineering of hardware, firmware, and software.
    • Experience with tools like Ghidra, IDA Pro, Radare, Rizin, or Binary Ninja.
    • Vulnerability research and the application of fuzzing tools.
    • Knowledge of network programming and protocols.
    • Scripting experience with Python, Ruby, or JavaScript to create prototypes and proof of concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI with Poly Security Clearance.
  • Familiarity with various Linux distributions, Real-Time Operating Systems (e.g., VxWorks, Integrity, QNX), or POSIX compliant Operating Systems like Solaris or BSD.
  • Experience using commercial or open-source signal and protocol analyzers.
  • Knowledge of advanced networking concepts and communication systems.
  • Experience with network test equipment such as Spirent/Ixia/Xena.
  • Understanding of platform virtualization and emulation.
  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts.

Pay Range:

Pay Range: $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
