Lead Data Analytics Engineer

Location: UK, hybrid/remote (1/month presence in the office in Tunbridge Wells)

Medthority has over 5M pages of medical content including a database of prescription medicines and related guidelines, journal snippets and clinical trials spanning 13 major therapy areas. Job purpose

  • To take ownership of our data collection, processing and storage of data.
  • Identify and exploit opportunities within EPG Health to enhance efficiency of the organisations performance.
  • Plan, design, manage, execute and report on tests for new and the optimisation to existing data sources/pipelines.
  • Manage and analyse data flows, identifying any performance issues and implementing the appropriate solution to rectify. Keep a details log of any changes made.
  • Identify the needs and requirements of all data requests, providing clean data as required.
  • Advocate self-service and actively sharing knowledge of data tools, such as Google analytics and Tableau.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new data flows, bringing data centrally, via the use of APIs ensuring the processes are in line with the latest data compliance guidelines and regulations.
  • Ensure that all risks associated with developments are understood and documented.
  • Create documentation on all APIs and data warehouse architecture. Maintain a log of all changes and optimisations made.
  • Own our Google analytics and Google Tag Manager ensuring set up aligns with best practice guidelines, where possible.
  • Actively keep up to date and informed with new technologies that will further enhance the processing and management of all EPG Health’s data.
  • Identify and project manage new and existing initiatives.
  • Mentor and train a team of junior engineers

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills
  • In depth knowledge of multiple coding language (Python, SQL, R, Java HTML)
  • A solid grasp on data governance best practices
  • Demonstratable experience with data engineering, ideally within a digital setting
  • Strong experience building and maintaining relational databases
  • Previous managerial experience is desirable
