Position Overview

At KONE R&D Data & Analytics SW, we are excited to offer an opportunity for a seasoned Senior Lead Data Engineer to enhance our dynamic team of over 50 skilled Data Scientists and Engineers. This pivotal role is centered within our dedicated team, tasked with maximizing the efficiency of maintenance services for our 24/7 Connected Services customers across more than 60 countries where KONE operates.

In this role, you will explore the intricacies of IoT data, applying your expertise to not only predict equipment failures but also to refine our understanding of the maintenance processes in place. Your efforts will be crucial in delivering actionable insights and fostering innovation, helping to derive even greater value from our data to the benefit of our esteemed customers.

You will engage in challenging problem-solving, utilize generative AI and predictive analytics, and use the state-of-the-art tools provided by KONE IT. Notably, your role is essential in managing production workloads in the AWS cloud environment, contributing to the thousands of valuable insights we deliver daily to elevate the customer experience.

Key Qualifications and Skills

• Degree in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Science, or Computer Science
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
• Understanding of testing methodologies plus DevOps and MLOps practices
• Experience in managing production workloads
• Strong communication and mentoring abilities with effective teamwork skills
• Proficiency in English is mandatory due to our multicultural work environment
• Experience or interest in cloud solutions, ML/AI tools, preferably with AWS and Databricks knowledge
• Familiarity with dashboarding tools like Qliksense, Quick Sight, PowerBI, Tableau
• Technical expertise in Spark, Databricks, AWS Glue, AWS EMR, AWS Athena, Apache Flink, Apache Kafka, Terraform, Gitlab CI
