Job Role and Responsibilities

As a Lead Data Engineer, you will:

  • Develop and maintain robust data collection, storage, and analytics platforms ensuring security, stability, and scalability.
  • Design and implement effective database backup, recovery, and archiving strategies.
  • Oversee and enhance access control processes to secure critical data assets.
  • Create cutting-edge solutions utilizing AWS Cloud Services, focusing on optimization and operational excellence.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline and automate system processes, enhancing software application stability.
  • Conduct technical evaluations with both internal teams and external vendors to foster innovation and ensure technological integration compatibility.
  • Drive communities of practice among Software Engineering teams to promote adoption of emergent technologies.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years in software engineering, with formal training or certifications.
  • Comprehensive experience across the data and software development lifecycles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and distributed computing frameworks such as PySpark.
  • Expertise in building AWS cloud-based applications and a robust understanding of AWS services including IAM, Redshift, and S3.
  • Experience in automating and optimizing processes through continuous delivery methods and ETL tools like Informatica.

Preferred Skills

  • Proven track record with data migration to cloud-based systems.
  • Experience in ML-Ops projects and building test automation frameworks for data lakes.
  • AWS Certifications are highly advantageous.
