Position Summary

As a Lead Data Scientist on the Retail Strategic Health Analytics team, you will spearhead some of the most impactful projects supporting CVS Retail Pharmacy. Utilizing advanced techniques like time series modeling, unsupervised learning, causal inference, and stochastic simulation, you will work to enhance pharmacy staffing outcomes.

In this role, you will serve as a thought leader, mentor, and developer of advanced AI/ML solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing, validating, and executing AI/ML models to solve complex business problems
• Collaborating with senior leadership and subject matter experts to define requirements and areas of support
• Evaluating and designing AI/ML solutions in collaboration with data scientists and team leadership
• Coordinating with MLOps and Data Engineers to streamline data and ML/AI pipelines for deployment
• Outlining and executing methods to fine-tune models for performance and accuracy
• Contributing to team eminence for AI/ML methods, coding, and documentation standards
• Mentoring junior data scientists, providing guidance on methods, resources, and reviewing analytical solutions
• Compiling and presenting results to executive audiences in a clear and compelling manner

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• 1+ years of experience with building Time Series models and pipelines related to demand forecasting
• 5+ years of experience developing AI-driven applications
• 5+ years of experience using machine learning algorithms, deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), and natural language processing and generative AI techniques
• 5+ years of experience in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation
• 5+ years of experience working with large datasets and distributed computing platforms
• 1+ years of experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for deploying AI solutions

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are desired:

• Healthcare industry experience
• Knowledge of data privacy and security in AI development
• Expertise in generative AI techniques, such as GANs and VAEs
• Proficiency in integrating low-code/no-code solutions with custom code and external systems via APIs
• Familiarity with causal inference methods and counterfactual reasoning
• Proficiency in Bayesian machine learning and probabilistic programming frameworks
• Experience in deploying ML models in production environments, including containerization

Education

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. A PhD or Master’s in Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is $118,450.00 - $236,900.00. The actual base salary offer will be determined based on factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program, as well as equity awards.
