Basic Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who possess the following:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
• Strong experience in machine learning and optimization
• Proficiency with ML packages such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX, and Scikit-Learn
• Solid understanding of statistical analysis and feature engineering techniques
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
• Experience using SQL in a production environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in experimental design and analysis, exploratory data analysis, and statistical analysis
• Experience with dashboarding and using data visualization tools
• Experience with statistical methodologies such as sampling, statistical estimates, and descriptive statistics
• Experience in the Search and Recommendations field
• Experience in Query Understanding, Ranking or solving customer problems with NLP
• Experience developing end-to-end GenAI products

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and productionize machine learning solutions for Search and Discovery, GenAI, QU/Ranking, and MOO optimizations
• Deploy these models in real-world applications
• Design and analyze experiments using data and statistical analysis to draw reasonable inferences
• Review code and designs of teammates, providing constructive feedback
• Collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to brainstorm and iterate on solutions

Salary and Benefits

For roles based in San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; and Sunnyvale, CA, the base salary range is USD$158,000 - USD$175,500 per year. All US-based roles are eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program and may be offered an equity award and other types of compensation. Employees are also eligible for various benefits.
