Your Role: Machine Learning Engineer in the AI Innovations Lab

The Innovation Lab Team at HubSpot serves as a product incubator, consisting of Backend Engineers, Frontend Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, UX Designers, and Product Managers. As part of the newly formed AI Innovation Group, our team employs cutting-edge AI and ML technologies to rapidly develop and test prototypes. We focus on building new products that enhance our customers' marketing, customer engagement, sales acquisition, and operational efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop machine learning models for various tasks using deep learning and natural language processing techniques.
• Implement and deploy scalable machine learning algorithms, collaborating closely with software engineers.
• Work with product managers to define and refine requirements and use cases for new ML technologies.
• Analyze and preprocess diverse data sources to extract relevant features and insights.
• Conduct experiments and evaluations of machine learning models using statistical methods and visualization tools to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Stay updated on the latest research and trends in conversational intelligence and contribute to developing new algorithms and techniques.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation activities to ensure high-quality and maintainable code.
• Mentor other team members and proactively share knowledge.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, focusing on machine learning, natural language processing, or speech analysis.
• 3+ years of experience developing and deploying machine learning models and algorithms, preferably in the speech or text analysis domains.
• Proficiency in Python programming and machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
• Familiarity with natural language processing and text analysis tools like NLTK and Hugging Face and other open-source text embedding modules.
• Experience working with LLMs and/or search relevancy.
• Familiarity with a variety of feature engineering techniques for multi-modal analysis is a plus.
• Experience mentoring other team members and defining best practices for the group.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team environment.

Compensation and Benefits

The cash compensation range for this role is $157,600 to $236,400 annually. This range includes base salary, on-target commission for eligible employees, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot's bonus plan. Additional compensation may include participation in HubSpot's equity plan for restricted stock units (RSUs) and eligibility for overtime pay. Compensation packages are unique to each candidate, based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
