We are searching for an extraordinary Machine Learning Engineer | AI Researcher to harness one of the world’s largest databases and turn it into remarkable products that appear magical. You will work on groundbreaking AI applications and products, brainstorm data product ideas with data scientists and engineers, and create data products used by hundreds of millions of people every day.
In your role, you will coordinate with analysts, engineers, designers, executives, product managers, marketers, customer success, and sales teams across all cloud businesses to form ML-driven decision-making data products. These products will enable our partners to impact their bottom line and solve critical business issues.
Your Impact:
1. Work intimately with a dedicated team of machine learning professionals on a broad range of issues—including sales and capacity forecasting, customer retention and growth through churn and propensity modeling, and classification and clustering using both structured and unstructured data.
2. Assist in creating highly noticeable data products and decision-making tools for Salesforce’s leaders.
3. Spearhead product innovations, taking our core products to the next level in terms of engineering maturity and architecture.
4. Refine and develop new data science products, workflows, tools, and automation.
5. Build tools to monitor data pipeline performance, data quality and models in production.
6. Establish best practices with coding standards, workflows, tools, and product automation.
7. Review and maintain existing tool-set and codebase (pipelines, models, algorithms); continue to improve existing tools and build new ones.
8. Scale the operations of the data science team by building automation and libraries.
Required Skills:
1. A relevant technical degree.
2. 4+ years of industry experience and a passion for crafting, analyzing and deploying machine learning-based solutions.
3. Experience working as part of a team on mature data science products.
4. Consistent record in building software and data products using modern development lifecycle methodologies: CI/CD, QA, and Agile Methodologies.
5. Practical experience designing, building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
6. Experience deploying, monitoring, and maintaining data science products in cloud environments such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
7. Good understanding of Machine Learning methods and Statistics, including ML project lifecycle and associated challenges at each stage of development.
8. Proficiency in writing high-quality, well-documented, tested, scalable code - preferably in Python. Experience with tools like mlFlow, Airflow, Docker, and cloud platforms such as AWS/GCP is ideal.
9. Solid comprehension of data transformations and analytics functions using tools/languages like Pandas, Sklearn, SQL, and Spark.
10. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with other engineers, data scientists, and product managers.

For roles based in California, the base salary hiring range for this position is $133,800 to $258,700. The compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Some roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
