We are on the search for a Machine Learning Engineer to become a part of our team of four people, focused on developing the most sophisticated and adaptable machine learning insurance platform suited for insurers, brokers, and underwriters across all sizes and sectors.

Having gained commercial experience in machine learning methods and principles and possessing knowledge of data science techniques, this role is for you, particularly, if you have experience working in a start-up or expanding environment.

Requirements

Your key duties will involve the innovation, coding, and rollout of data science models at scale, using state-of-the-art technologies and the AWS cloud environment.

In this capacity, you will:

  • Collaborate with data scientists to comprehend, execute, refine, and design machine learning code and other algorithms
  • Work alongside data scientists to establish pipelines for training and incorporating models into
  • production
  • Liaise with core development teams to integrate deployed models into main products
  • Cooperate with product managers, designers, data scientists, and product engineers across functions, and communicate progress and results to colleagues and leaders
  • Explore new technological shifts to determine how they might connect with customer benefits we wish to deliver (e.g., GenAI)

About You

  • 5-10 years of commercial experience
  • BS, MS, or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Ability to produce ready-to-deploy code at scale in Python
  • Experience with cloud technologies and deployment (AWS preferred)
  • Understanding of machine learning methods and principles
  • Computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, performance complexity, and the implications of computer architecture on software performance (e.g., I/O and memory tuning)
  • Software engineering fundamentals: version control systems and workflows, CI/CD pipelines

We are highly interested in hearing from you if you have:

  • An interest in reading academic papers and attempting to implement groundbreaking solutions
  • Experience or interest in working with LLMs and relevant libraries (e.g., Langchain) to tackle new challenges
  • Product development skills with a focus on user experience
  • Experience in insurtech, insurance or related industries
  • A drive to work in a demanding and disruptive setting
  • Applicable personal projects to showcase
