Job Title: Machine Learning Practice Leader

The Machine Learning Practice Leader is a pivotal role at Provectus, crucial for managing our Machine Learning practice. This role requires a combination of technical prowess and leadership skills to maintain and demonstrate the best market practices while staying updated with the latest technological advancements.

Requirements:

  • Practical experience with high-performance programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of Python patterns and best practices.
  • Experience in productionizing various models across different types.
  • Deep understanding of the ML project lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience with creating training datasets involving human annotators.
  • Familiarity with diverse data sources (OLTP, OLAP, DataLake, Streaming).
  • Experience with distributed data processing tools like Spark or Dask.
  • Ability to justify every design choice made.
  • Proven experience in writing Deep Learning models from scratch.
  • Competence in model post-production and maintenance, including model and data monitoring, retraining automation, etc.
  • Ability to develop reusable components for ML pipelines.
  • Proficiency in explaining decisions, status, and roadmap to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: NLP, CV, forecasting, recommender systems, reinforcement learning.
  • Experience with /AWS/other cloud/open source alternatives/ MLOps platforms, frameworks, and libraries.
  • Leadership experience in team or department settings.
  • Strong team-building and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to teach and mentor, guiding employees through their career paths and helping them achieve their goals.
  • Diplomatic skills, encompassing ethics, empathy, compassion, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Calm demeanor, ready to handle complex objectives and misunderstandings.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and cultivate effective teams.
  • Engage in meetups, conferences, and community-building initiatives.
  • Share best practices and foster a positive culture within the team.
  • Mentor engineers, coach Team Leads, and promote knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain technical excellence and influence various teams and projects.
  • Hire and onboard newcomers effectively.
  • Conduct performance reviews and 1-on-1 meetings.
  • Identify and address knowledge gaps within the team.
  • Continuously evaluate, improve, and maintain processes.
  • Collaborate with other managers across the company.
  • Communicate and adhere to the company's mission, vision, and values.
