About the Role

HackerRank is spearheading advancements in machine learning and data science. We are launching a pioneering data commercialization program to establish a comprehensive benchmark for evaluating large language models (LLMs) on coding challenges. We are searching for a highly skilled and motivated Research Engineer to join our team and lead this innovative initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement benchmarks for assessing LLMs on coding challenges.
  • Conduct research and experiments to evaluate the performance of various LLMs.
  • Design and prepare evaluation metrics and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate the benchmark into our overall data commercialization strategy.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in machine learning and LLMs to ensure our benchmarks and models remain state-of-the-art.
  • Contribute to the development and deployment of cutting-edge machine learning models.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in machine learning with a strong focus on LLMs and natural language processing.
  • Experience in evaluating machine learning models.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and knowledge of machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Passion for staying current with emerging trends and technologies in the field.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in benchmarking and performance evaluation of machine learning models.
  • Knowledge of coding challenges and competitive programming.
  • Published research in relevant fields.
