About the Position: Manager, Data Science

Foursquare seeks a results-driven Manager, Data Science to lead our User Data Science Team, based around our hubs in New York City, Chicago, Seattle, or San Francisco. This pivotal role involves spearheading initiatives to develop and refine our core analytical engines and modeling approaches, leveraging advanced machine learning and analytics to drive client success in insights and attribution, our top revenue contributors.

Job Responsibilities:

• Guide and expand a skilled team of data scientists to deliver impactful business solutions with precision and innovation.
• Ensure alignment of data science initiatives with customer expectations through close collaboration with internal teams.
• Empower the team to harness vast data sets for developing cutting-edge models and methodologies, ultimately enhancing our analytical products.
• Provide strategic and technical leadership to enhance product offerings across multiple dimensions and mentor team members to foster an environment of growth and experimentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A minimum of 7 years' industry experience coupled with a Master’s degree, or 4+ years with a PhD.
• Proven leadership experience and expertise in machine learning, causal inference, and forecasting.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and a quantitative background in Computer Science or a related field.
