Overview

We are excited to announce an opening for a highly motivated Manager of Data Science – Real World Evidence (RWE) to join our dynamic and rapidly growing RWE analytics team based in Toronto. At Clarivate, we specialize in generating actionable insights from claims and electronic health records (EHR) real world data (RWD). By collaborating closely with the Senior Director, you will lead our team to support and partner with North American, Indian, and European RWE analytics and consulting teams, delivering Clarivate’s industry-leading RWE analytics services.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to interpret real world data, commercial and clinical datasets, and possess a business-oriented mindset to translate insights into strategic opportunities and actions for our clients. You will collaborate across various departments, including Delivery, Products, Consulting, Solutions, and Sales, to deliver exceptional value to our customers.

Required Qualifications

• Advanced degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, economics, mathematics, data science, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in the pharma, medtech, biotech, or healthcare industry, focusing on data insights.
• 7+ years of experience with healthcare and RWD, particularly medical and pharma claims, and EHR.
• Experience in designing and implementing RWE studies and pharma/medtech commercialization analytics use cases.
• 3+ years of experience managing and mentoring data science teams.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python; knowledge of R is a plus.
• Expertise in advising on RWE generation methods, statistical modeling, and advanced analytics.
• Comfortable with code management best practices (e.g., git workflow).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading teams to deliver RWD/E projects to pharma, medtech, biotech, or healthcare industries.
• Innovative mindset with ideas for leveraging advanced methods (AI/ML) to solve RWD/E problems.
• Proficient in partnering with multiple stakeholders in a highly matrixed organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a team of data scientists, epidemiologists, biostatisticians, and data analysts.
• Deliver RWE and advanced analytics projects to our global pharma, medtech, biotech, and healthcare clients.
• Contribute to the development of analytics accelerators and deployment platforms to enhance and scale analytics services.
• Provide “white-glove” analytics consulting services, ensuring client satisfaction through on-time delivery of high-quality services.
• Identify appropriate data and methodologies for client questions and interpret results effectively.
• Manage resources to successfully complete client project goals and objectives.
• Guide junior team members in developing machine learning and advanced analytics solutions.
• Act as a trusted advisor and coach, helping your team navigate challenging RWD/E analytics problems and client challenges.

The Real World Evidence & Analytics team at Clarivate is a growing team of experienced professionals providing data solutions to pharmaceutical clients. As part of the Life Sciences & Healthcare division, we excel in delivering real world data and big data solutions to our customers, who rely on our expertise and consulting services.

Work Hours

Regular business hours with flexibility to attend global meetings virtually. This position can be performed in a hybrid capacity near our Toronto site or our Northeast US offices.
