Introduction
As a Manufacturing Data Governance Manager, you will report to the Digital Manufacturing Senior Director and align with the needs of data consumers by creating data-as-a-product solutions. You will oversee data quality, management, and ownership, standardize data definitions and models, and participate in the GlobalFoundries data council.
Your Role Includes:
- Defining and aligning clear priorities, goals, and objectives for data strategies to support Digital Manufacturing transformation initiatives.
- Applying advanced database features and concepts such as performance tuning effectively.
- Leading problem-solving efforts with teams on any database platform and providing robust recommendations for data storage, security, and management.
- Recommending infrastructure sizing for data and analytics platforms.
- Ensuring data engineering codebase is well-structured, documented, and optimized for efficiency.
- Delivering data products using ETL concepts independently.
- Collaborating with the team on infrastructure needs and offering thoughtful solutions for common data issues like low memory.
- Defining data governance policies, standards, and best practices for managing manufacturing data organization-wide.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and ensuring data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle.
- Designing and implementing data architectures to enable data-driven decisions and analytics in the digital manufacturing transformation journey.
- Overseeing the development and maintenance of data pipelines, models, and integration processes to support analytics and insights generation.
- Partnering with GFIT and other stakeholders to optimize data architecture, infrastructure, and platforms for manufacturing data management and analysis.
- Providing leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Staying updated on emerging trends in data management and digital manufacturing technologies to evaluate their business value.
Other Responsibilities:
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. Promote and support GlobalFoundries’ DEIB and ESG vision and goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in computer engineering, data science, or related roles, with a focus on digital manufacturing applications.
- Proven leadership experience in the manufacturing domain.
- Proven experience in data management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in data governance principles, data quality management, and data integration techniques.
- Experience with data analytics tools and platforms for extracting insights from manufacturing data.
- Knowledge of data security standards and regulatory requirements related to manufacturing data.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- Certification in Project Management or equivalent certification.
