ING is seeking a Market Data Analyst/ Business Analyst to join our Market Data Analytics Team (MDAT). This team focuses on managing market data sourcing, transformations, models, and proxies. Furthermore, we develop dashboard and data analytics tools to create a market data excellence centre within TRM. We are looking for a candidate with proven experience in managing projects, analysing and visualising extensive market data, as well as a background in Market Risk and derivatives pricing knowledge.
The Team
The Market Data Analytics Team is part of the Traded Risk Management (TRM) department, supporting a broad area of businesses within Financial Markets and Group Treasury. We handle all aspects of market data used by the TRM department, including market risk, product control, and counterparty credit risk.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Working closely with the TRM teams to understand and meet their market data requirements
- Coordinating and implementing market data used in market risk-related internal initiatives and upcoming regulatory changes like the valuation risk programme's market data components
- Serving as a point of contact to resolve market-related queries from stakeholders including Trading, Risk and Model Validation
- Collaborating with Model Validation to address market data related issues
- Coordinating agile projects with IT developers and system support teams to develop and maintain high market data quality standards on behalf of TRM
- Developing and maintaining derived market data and proxy models for multiple asset classes
- Conducting analysis on large data sets, processes, and technology systems
- Daily market data validation and reporting as defined by the Market Data Replacement & Proxy Policy
- Collaborating with the global team across the full market data lifecycle including requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, and release management

Qualification/Education
Essential: Graduate in finance or another quantitative subject
Desirable: Professional qualification (like PRM, FRM)
Experience/Knowledge
Essential: At least three years of experience in a Market Risk or Product Control function.
Desirable:
- Experienced professional or business analyst in risk management within large, internationally active financial institutions
- Good quantitative understanding of various products and their risks
- Experience with and interest in relevant financial market policies, guidelines and regulations
- Good understanding of different asset classes, their risks and pricing
- Advanced knowledge of quantifying market risk metrics (VaR, HVaR, IRC, etc.) and market risk capital requirements
- Experience with managing large market data sets and associated technology with a working knowledge of SQL and Python
- Use of systems like Summit, Murex, Bloomberg, Markit, Reuters, ActivePivot would be a plus
