Job Duties

This is your chance to join carsales as a Marketing Data Analyst. This role will be central in understanding, analyzing, and reporting on customer behavior and transactional data, that will be used to drive data-informed decisions.

The Marketing Data Analyst will aid the larger marketing team - digital, consumer, commercial, content, customer - by uncovering actionable business and marketing insights and regular reporting. This role will require collaboration with other teams across the business, such as the data and product teams, to gather insights that can be utilized for marketing purposes. Preparing, transferring, and visualizing data is crucial for this role.

The ideal candidate has a passion for data and generating actionable insights. They will be naturally curious, constantly seeking answers to "why" and comfortable with challenging the norm.

  • Utilize data to identify opportunities and/or problems and assess the risk vs reward.
  • Work with stakeholders to comprehend the issues they're facing and provide relevant data and insights.
  • Proactively seek new or improved opportunities through data analysis and present them to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Regular performance reporting against Marketing KPIs.
  • Write SQL queries to retrieve data from different data sources.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand and interpret analytic results, providing actionable business insights.
  • Create clear and succinct visualizations to help stakeholders understand the data, its relevance, and impact.
  • Use data to inform financial decisions around marketing, such as budget allocation through marketing mix modeling techniques.
  • Review, analyze and produce data-driven attribution methodologies.

Qualifications

What we're seeking

  • Evidence of inclusive and interpersonal traits that align you with our behaviors (we change the game, we own it, we step in, we are curious, we don’t take ourselves too seriously).
  • Experience in using SQL to handle data.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery is a plus.
  • Experience in using data visualization tools such as ThoughtSpot, Tableau, Looker Studio, and Power BI.
  • Ability to use large-scale data platforms such as Google Analytics 360 and/or similar reporting platforms, like Adobe Analytics, Appsflyer, and Adjust.
  • Experience in data-driven attribution modeling or marketing mix modeling would be beneficial.
  • Expertise in tag management, from structuring tags, and implementing them via tools like Google Tag Manager or Adobe Launch.
  • Capability to launch, analyze and report on a/b tests and conversion rate optimization initiatives managed through tools like Optimizely, Adobe Target, and Maxymiser.
