Position: Master Data Analyst
Purpose
As a Master Data Analyst with medium-level expertise, you will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our organization's material master data. Working within our materials management team, your responsibilities will include accurate data entry, maintenance, verification, validation, and compliance. Your attention to detail and knowledge of data management best practices will enhance the efficiency of our supply chain and overall operations.
Responsibilities
Data Entry and Maintenance:
- Create, update, and maintain material master data in our systems, including SAP or other ERP systems
- Ensure consistency and adherence to data standards and naming conventions
- Assess and manage the status of obsolete materials within our inventory to ensure effective disposition
Data Verification and Validation:
- Perform regular data quality checks to identify and rectify inaccuracies, duplicates, or inconsistencies
- Validate data inputs against established criteria for accuracy
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, working closely with stakeholders
Material Classification:
- Assign and maintain material classifications based on product attributes and usage
- Identify the correct allocation of new materials
Vendor Data Coordination:
- Collaborate with procurement and vendor management teams to ensure accurate linkage of supplier-related data
Documentation and Records Management:
- Maintain comprehensive records and documentation related to material master data
Data Governance and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies and procedures
- Assist in developing and implementing data governance best practices
Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate reports and analyze material data for trends, inconsistencies, or areas of improvement
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis
User Support and Training:
- Support end-users on material data-related inquiries and issues
- Assist in training new team members or end-users on material master data processes
Who You Are
Bayer seeks an individual with the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Data Management, or a related field
- Medium-level expertise in material master data management within an ERP system (e.g., SAP)
- Understanding of data governance principles and best practices
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify data-related trends and issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Excel)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of supply chain and procurement processes
- Certification in data management or SAP
Employees can expect a salary range between $64,000.00 to $98,000.00. Additional compensation may include bonuses or commissions where relevant, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, and sick leave. The salary range is an estimate and may vary based on various factors including location, market data, skills, experience, and specific qualifications.
