Job Description

Team Summary:

The Risk and Identity Solutions (RaIS) team at Visa provides cutting-edge risk management services to banks, merchants, and other payment networks. Utilizing machine learning and AI, our Visa Predictive Models (VPM) team provides real-time insights essential for client risk management. As part of our expansion, we seek talented engineers skilled in handling substantial data volumes, automating processes, and standardizing ML & AI tools.

This opportunity invites you to join our newly established Data Engineering and MLOps team, aiming to enhance the structure and scalability of significant data engineering and ML/AI initiatives, ultimately driving substantial revenue growth. As a vital member of the VPM, you'll develop and implement processes for effective deployment of machine learning models within extensive data science projects. Collaborate closely with global stakeholders across RaIS Product, VPM Data Science, and Visa Research to refine our strategic roadmap and create advanced data engineering solutions.

The role is based in Visa's Bangalore office, offering a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility between remote work and office presence.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a minimum of 8 years of professional experience with a bachelor’s degree in an analytical field like computer science, statistics, finance, or economics. Applicants should have a robust understanding of the Hadoop ecosystem, including technologies like Apache Spark, Python, and Pandas.

Technical Skills

Applicants are expected to have:

  • Proven expertise in developing large-scale data engineering pipelines and big data processing using SQL through platforms like Hadoop, EMR, & NoSQL.
  • Capability to manage high volume, complex, multi-dimensional datasets for machine learning models.
  • Familiarity with building and maintaining Spark pipelines, optimizing Spark and Hive code in Big-Data environments, and understanding essential ML concepts.
  • Experience in engineering, testing, validating, and productizing AI/ML models, with knowledge of model serving engines like TensorFlow and Triton.
  • A strong grasp on AWS services, including environment setup for distributed data and computing tasks.
  • Proficiency in DevOps tools, containerized and virtualized environments like Docker and Kubernetes, and scripting in Unix/Shell or Python.
  • Visualization expertise in tools such as Tableau or Power BI is considered a plus.
