Department Overview

At the Wildfire and Emergency Operations (WEO) department, our core responsibilities include operational mitigations against wildfires, crafting enterprise Wildfire Mitigation Plans, and enhancing enterprise Emergency Preparedness & Response. Our team specializes in Meteorology, Fire Science, Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS), and Enhanced Powerline Safety Settings (EPSS).

Position Summary

As an Operations Data Analyst, you will extract operational data for detailed analysis, support leadership decisions, and respond to ad-hoc data requests. Your role involves maintaining and updating our operational tools & databases, developing operational metric database tools for our analytics teams, and optimizing data accessibility and reliability.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Project Management: Oversee data management projects from conception to delivery, ensuring they are completed within budget and on schedule.
  • Data Processing: Develop automated routines and processes for efficient data reporting and delivery, maintaining data integrity throughout.
  • Data Extracts and File Transfers: Manage the extraction and transfer of data to support our operational analysis endeavors.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize various statistical tools to create reports, uncover trends, and provide actionable insights.
  • Reporting: Craft and convey clear, concise, and actionable data analyses for stakeholders.

This hybrid position allows you to work remotely and onsite, depending on business requirements.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Ranges:

Bay Area: $87,000 - $131,000

California: $83,000 - $124,000

This role is also eligible for PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 2 years of job-related experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in utility operations.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel/Access, including complex formulas and graphing.
  • Proficiency in SQL or Python for writing queries.
  • Experienced in analyzing data with the Palantir Foundry Platform.
  • Ability to effectively analyze, interpret data, and communicate findings.
