Job Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Developing and implementing optimization models to enhance business performance and operational efficiency within the insurance industry.
  • Analyzing extensive data volumes to provide insights for data-driven decisions in areas such as insurance risk profiling, claims management, and other critical issues.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including actuaries, underwriters, and IT to design, develop, and integrate optimization solutions.
  • Participating in the end-to-end data science lifecycle from problem definition to model implementation.
  • Utilizing AI algorithms and predictive modeling to create dynamic optimization models capable of adapting to changing market conditions and customer needs.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest OR and AI techniques and exploring innovative solutions to drive impactful optimization results.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • 3+ years of experience in Operations Research with a strong understanding of mathematical modeling, optimization, and simulation techniques.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or related fields (advanced degree preferred).
  • Experience in deploying OR solutions in the cloud environment.
  • Familiarity with AI algorithms, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques, particularly their application in insurance problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
  • Basic understanding of descriptive statistics and exploratory data analysis techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work with complex datasets.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively partner with various stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Self-driven with a keen interest in learning and applying the latest OR and AI techniques to solve complex business problems.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this role is $80,500 to $137,000, based on the applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program. Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, details of which can be found on our . The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
