The Role: Platform Engineer

We are seeking a passionate Platform Engineer to lead the transformation of generative AI applications from concept to production. This critical role involves deploying sophisticated applications within customer-specific Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) environments and enhancing deployment processes across diverse cloud platforms.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Drive the architecture, design, implementation, and support of foundational platforms and systems.
• Work closely with stakeholders and internal customers to refine and understand requirements.
• Collaborate across functional teams to innovate and deliver new features.
• Advance current programming practices by identifying opportunities for enhancement and implementing tool upgrades.
• Present technical insights to internal and external teams, guiding development processes and technologies.
• Design scalable systems that maintain integrity across various cloud providers.
• Expertly manage multiple deployment versions aligned with specific customer needs.
• Address unique challenges in a non-traditional SaaS product environment.

What We Look For:

• Professional Experience: At least 5 years in engineering, focusing on back-end systems post-graduation.
• Technical Expertise: Profound knowledge in software development, distributed systems, cloud platforms, and data science.
• Containerization & Deployment Technologies: Proficiency in Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, Helm, etc.
• Orchestration Platforms: Experience with tools like Temporal and AWS Step Functions.
• System Integration: Ability to build and maintain scalable systems, manage CI/CD operations.
• Cloud Services: Familiarity with multiple cloud providers is beneficial.
• Communication Skills: Strong ability to explain complex technical concepts and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

• Advanced knowledge in DevOps practices and tools.
• Experience with authentication and authorization systems.
• Proven ability to scale products in fast-growing startup environments.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation at Scale comprises a competitive base salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, and vision coverage, retirement benefits, a learning development stipend, and generous PTO. The salary range for this full-time position in San Francisco is $160,000—$225,000 USD, depending on several factors including skills and experience.
