About the Role Company: Wellington Management Company LLP Location: 280 Congress Street, Boston, MA 02210 Position Title: Portfolio Data Analyst Job Description: As a Portfolio Data Analyst, you will provide the Wellington investment teams with data, controls, and support necessary to ensure that investment intent reflects accurately according to client regulatory and operational requirements. You will be responsible for operational support and driving essential initiatives related to the accuracy of the firm’s internal representation of client cash balances. You will work in a team setting, communicating regularly with other groups within Portfolio Administration, as well as vendors, Client Services/GRG, Portfolio Management, Fixed Income and Equity Trading teams, and Banks. Your primary responsibilities will include the following: - Writing advanced SQL code and VBA macro scripting. - Finding efficient coding solutions to business challenges and creating process improvements. - Performing business process analysis and translating functional requirements into technical specifications. - Supporting the cash management of clients by developing solutions. - Leading and participating in initiatives for improving cash data and accounting workflows. - Liaising with various internal stakeholders and providing guidance to Business Analysts and IT. - Reviewing accounting capabilities and making recommendations. The position is based in our Boston, MA office, but telecommuting from a home office may also be permitted. Job Requirements: You will need a Master’s degree in Engineering Management, Business, Finance, or a related field, plus two years of experience in a related occupation. You should have two years of experience in the following (the experience can be concurrent): - Working in the financial services industry, including investment management and custodian bank processes. - Experience with VBA/SQL scripting tools, and Python and Tableau. - Experience with capital markets, cash management, accounting and recordkeeping. - Experience with foreign exchange transactions and global markets. - Experience with investment management operations and support practices. Working hours will be 40 hours per week, 9:00am-5:00pm, with a salary of $85,000-$120,000 per year.
