About the Role

As part of the Addepar Platform team, the Portfolio Data Integration unit is vital to our mission. Our team's responsibilities encompass data acquisition, conversion, cleansing, disambiguation, modeling, and the tools and infrastructure critical for integrating client portfolio data. Our platform provides a centralized self-describing repository (Data Lake), API-driven data services, an integration pipeline, and robust analytics infrastructure.

We are looking for a dedicated Data Engineer to help develop new data integrations and maintain existing processes, enhancing our data platform's efficiency. You will be instrumental in building and automating functionality within our distributed data pipelines by writing PySpark code integrated within our Databricks Data Lake. As you gain experience, you'll take on increasingly challenging projects aimed at significantly boosting Addepar's data ingestion throughput. This highly visible role is crucial for Addepar’s growth and client satisfaction, minimizing manual efforts and maximizing automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize and complete individual project tasks and meet deadlines.
• Develop pipelines to support the ingestion, analysis, and enrichment of financial data in collaboration with business data analysts.
• Enhance existing pipelines to improve data throughput and accuracy.
• Create and maintain efficient process controls and accurate metrics to ensure quality standards and organizational expectations.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to design, test, and implement new processes and tools to improve data quality and operational efficiency.
• Identify automation opportunities and implement improvements.
• Understand data models and schemas and collaborate with other engineering teams to recommend updates and changes.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of professional experience in data engineering or analysis.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming, particularly with PySpark/Python.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
• Experience in data modeling, visualization, and ETL pipelines.
• A background in financial concepts (such as stocks, bonds, etc.) is advantageous but not required.
• Passion for FinTech and addressing complex problems in investment management.
