Postdoctoral Researcher for Human Inspired AI at Meta's FAIR

Join Meta's Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) team as a Postdoctoral Researcher focused on pioneering advancements in Human Inspired AI. Our research involves developing benchmarks and tasks that directly compare human and machine performance on high-level tasks such as reasoning, learning, and world modeling. We also design algorithms that emulate human learning from sparse, unlabelled, and noisy data. Our team publishes groundbreaking papers and releases widely-used frameworks and libraries in the open-source community, pushing the boundaries of AI and natural intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Publish state-of-the-art research papers in leading machine learning and cognitive science outlets.
• Conduct independent research to explore how AI can enhance the understanding of biological learning and vice versa.
• Open source high-quality code and reproducible results for the community.

Minimum Qualifications

• PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Cognitive or Language Science, with a background in both theoretical and empirical disciplines (completed or in progress).
• Interest in cross-disciplinary communication for conducting research in human inspired AI.
• Proven research background with publications in top-tier conferences/journals in related fields.
• Work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and throughout employment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field (completed or in progress).

Preferred Qualifications

• Track record of significant achievements demonstrated by grants, fellowships, or publications in top conferences and journals (e.g., *ACL, NeurIPS, ICML, ICIS, CogSci).
• Experience contributing to workshops at machine learning and cognitive science conferences.
• Experience building systems using machine learning and deep learning methods.
• Proficiency in solving complex problems by evaluating alternative solutions and diverse perspectives.
• Ability to work and communicate cross-functionally within team environments.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual salary: $117,000 - $173,000 + benefits.
