The Global Finance Team requires a PowerBI developer to deliver commercial tools to business users. This role involves improving existing reporting tools and developing new ones. The position requires using a PowerBI skillset to connect to a SQL Server architecture, either directly or through an SSAS Cube, depending on the scenario. There will be collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure our financial data is effectively visualized to support data-driven decision-making processes. Requirements: - Data Visualization: Create visually appealing and interactive PowerBI dashboards and reports to present financial data. - Data Integration: Work with the data engineering team to ensure the necessary database tables are accessible to produce the required outputs. - Query Optimization: Write complex SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data efficiently from SQL Server databases. - SSAS Cube Development: Maintain and improve existing SSAS cubes. - Data Modelling: Develop data models and relationships to ensure accurate reporting and analysis. - Performance Tuning: Optimize PowerBI reports and dashboards for speed and responsiveness. Collaborate with finance analysts and other stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and provide data-driven solutions. - Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for data models, report development processes, and best practices. To excel in this role, you should possess the following technical skills and experiences: - PowerBI: Expert in creating complex PowerBI dashboards and reports, including using DAX for calculations and measures. - SQL Server: Strong knowledge of SQL Server development. Confidence to write bespoke SQL queries and manage and update Database Views. - SSAS Cubes: Experience in designing/maintaining SSAS cubes for multidimensional analysis. - Microsoft D365: The company uses D365 Finance and Objects as its core system. Prior knowledge of this system would be advantageous. - Data Modelling: Ability to create data models and define relationships to support accurate reporting. - Financial Acumen: A good understanding of financial concepts and data is desirable. - Communication: Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. - Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot data issues and optimize reports. - Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
