Job Summary: Power BI Data Analyst

As a Power BI Data Analyst in the Specialty Client Insights Team at Howden, you’ll join a dedicated team of specialists committed to developing Specialty Client Insights data products. Your role will involve building data products that provide valuable insights and aid decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze data and create reports to facilitate decision-making
• Identify business requirements in the context of BI and develop data models to transform raw data into actionable insights
• Create interactive dashboards and visual reports using Power BI
• Translate business needs into technical specifications and establish a completion timeline
• Develop, test, and deploy Power BI scripts and execute in-depth analysis
• Run DAX queries and functions using Power BI
• Create data documentation, including explanations of algorithms, parameters, models, and relationships
• Utilize SQL queries to achieve optimal results
• Implement technological adjustments to improve current BI systems' performance
• Enhance data understanding through effective filters and visualizations

Requirements

• Prior experience in data-related tasks
• Proficiency in the Microsoft BI Stack
• Expertise in data analytics and familiarity with MS SQL Server BI Stack tools and technologies (e.g., SSRS, TSQL, Power Query, MDX, Power BI, DAX, Databricks)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert data into insightful reports and visuals
• Knowledge of Power BI application security layer models
• Ability to execute DAX queries on Power BI desktop
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and internal teams
