Job Description

Job Title: PowerBI Developer - 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide insightful, accurate, and impactful dashboards and reporting across the Professional Services (PS) business. The successful candidate will be required to work from our Bracknell office at least 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy BI data solutions across PS by developing data models and pipelines, reports, Power BI dashboards, and KPI scorecards.
• Oversee and create complex tabular models, including SQL database development to store data in a manageable reporting format.
• Use SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) for larger data models, including complex DAX.
• Conduct business analysis and requirements gathering with stakeholders to design the best technical solution and translate it to the team for development.
• Create automated and sustainable reporting solutions; identify improvements in existing processes to enhance efficiency and tackle technical debt.
• Monitor security in Power BI and incorporate Row Level Security (RLS) into data models.
• Create Power BI Gateways, Workspaces, and Apps, ensuring appropriate access is applied.
• Document processes, database models, and architecture plans.
• Integrate multiple data sets into defined and sustainable solutions to deliver ‘one source of truth’ to the business.
• Work closely with different teams across the business to improve data literacy and empower teams with the right tools, reports, and guidance to leverage insights for better-informed decisions.

Qualifications

Key Skills and Experience

• Strong experience with MS Power BI and DAX.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying, analysis, and optimization.
• Experience using Microsoft Development (Visual Studio) tools to develop and manage database and BI projects.
• Understanding of best practices for delivering compelling data visualizations and reports.
• Knowledge of industry-standard data warehousing modeling techniques.
• Familiarity with ETL processes using a variety of data sources.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Understands processes, data, and strategic priorities.
• Capability to design solutions that meet user needs, allowing for design and ethics standards.
• Commitment to the successful delivery of products and establishment of maintenance requirements.

Professional Qualifications and Education

• STEM degree preferred but experience is more essential.
• PowerBI certifications preferred.
