Role Description

The Vice President, Pricing Models Quantitative Specialist, occupies a specialist role in Model Risk Audit within Nomura Internal Audit. This global position reports directly to the Global Head of Model Risk Audit and incidentally to the Regional Risk Management Audit Head. Your responsibilities will include leading assessments of the firm’s pricing model risks across various regions including New York, London, Singapore, and Tokyo, among others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate front office pricing model development processes against industry and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and assess the adequacy of model usage and performance.
  • Review the robustness of model validation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with key regulatory standards such as SR 11-7, JFSA, and others.
  • Collaborate globally and regionally within internal audit teams to provide advisory and auditing support.
  • Drive continuous improvement through innovative data analytics and automated testing initiatives.
  • Formulate and roll out solutions to enhance Model Risk management practices.

Skills and Experience Required

Prospective candidates should possess a Master’s or PhD in quantitative sciences coupled with extensive experience in risk management within a financial services, consulting, or Big 4 firm. Proficiency in Python, strong project management skills, and a solid understanding of quantitative finance principles are essential. Relevant experience in risk management derivative products across various asset classes is highly advantageous.
