Microsoft AI’s Feeds and Verticals team is actively looking for a visionary Principal Data & Applied Scientist Manager to spearhead the development of next-generation intelligence and analytics solutions. This pivotal role targets enhancing product and user experiences across Microsoft's web platforms, impacting over 500 million users by refining and personalizing their online interactions.
As a leader within our innovative team, you will:
Define and spearhead extensive data science initiatives, leading a proficient team of data scientists while fostering collaboration across various cross-functional teams.
Implement solid engineering processes and adopt data-driven principles to enhance service quality and delivery of new capabilities.
Devise a forward-looking roadmap integrating continuous improvements in business metrics, data analysis, insights, and research outcomes.
Develop scalable data solutions ensuring accurate data logging and versatile analysis capabilities.
Champion talent development within your team promoting a thriving, inclusive, and innovative workplace culture aligned with Microsoft's core values and principles.
To excel in this role, you are expected to have:
A Doctorate or Master's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field combined with substantial professional experience in data science.
Proven leadership skills with at least 3 years of experience in managing teams.
Expertise in web services, mobile app data, large scale data processing infrastructures like Cosmos/Scope/Spark, and familiarity with analytics tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in advanced data science and machine learning techniques.
Exceptional ability to convey complex data in a straightforward, visually appealing manner.
Experience leading data science teams, defining metrics, and deploying real-world models.
Critical technical decision-making skills without requiring senior validation.
Deep understanding of web technologies, the advertising business model, and customer-centric product development.
