Job Description

As a Principal Data Analyst at Discover, you will be responsible for extracting, managing, and analyzing data to communicate business insights to relevant stakeholders. You will set up processes and systems to enhance efficiency in data handling within the company. Your role involves managing risk and customer-impacting issues day-to-day, escalating them to management when necessary.

In this high-visibility role, you'll directly contribute to our business unit's profitable growth by supporting Sales, Marketing, and Financial Planning teams with data-driven insights. You will collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Sales leadership, marketing technology professionals, Salesforce Administrators, and financial analysts, to facilitate informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Gather, structure, and analyze data, providing recommendations to management.
• Present the results of data analyses with actionable recommendations to management and process owners.
• Partner with the business to identify the appropriate data sources and analytical methodologies to meet business needs.
• Coach and guide less experienced analytical professionals in statistical concepts, principles, and tools.
• Support the development of standard and ad hoc data analyses, reports, and dashboards.
• Demonstrate technical knowledge in analytical tools.
• Collaborate with the Marketing Technology Manager to recommend optimal solutions for collecting and analyzing account lifecycle data.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Management, Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in data analysis and relevant toolsets, or related fields.
• If you don't have a degree, 10+ years of relevant work experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

We also highly value candidates with:

• Proficiency with SQL, SAS, Snowflake, Tableau Cloud, Salesforce CRM Analytics, Excel Power Pivot, and Excel VBA.
• Salesforce or Tableau certifications.
• Experience or familiarity with financial services/payments.

Compensation

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $88,500.00 to $149,300.00, with additional incentives as part of a competitive total compensation package. Factors such as geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the final pay.
