The Commerce, Growth & Identity (CGI) team focuses on three critical areas: creating seamless user experiences, building innovative capabilities, and driving engagement and monetization across Disney’s digital and streaming products.

About the Role

Disney's streaming products, including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Star+, boast over 225M global subscriptions. As we continue to grow, we seek a dynamic Principal Product Manager to develop and build new AI/ML solutions for our payment systems across our streaming services globally.

This role involves leading a cross-functional team of engineers, data scientists, and other specialists to innovate for a payments system processing billions annually. As part of an entrepreneurial and driven team, your contributions will make a direct impact on the future success of The Walt Disney Company.

Responsibilities

  • Define AI/ML principles, vision, and strategy for payment product areas, including core processing and retry schedules.
  • Prioritize new features based on financial benefits and resource availability.
  • Implement and maintain the product roadmap collaborating across teams: engineering, data science, business, finance, legal, operations, marketing, and more.
  • Navigate business complexities and negotiate trade-offs that optimize overall business performance.
  • Define KPIs to align product categories with business goals, contributing to broader business metrics.
  • Challenge the status quo, suggesting new features that solve both tactical and strategic problems.
  • Provide thought leadership and domain expertise by speaking at forums and conferences.
  • Champion Disney values, especially through times of change.
  • Adaptively fill in gaps and perform as a creative problem solver and morale-boosting leader.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience (4+ in AI/ML product management) with a Master’s, or 10+ years (4+ in AI/ML) with a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in direct-to-consumer, e-commerce, fintech, or subscription services in domestic/international markets preferred.
  • Leadership skills to inspire and motivate cross-functional partners (engineers, data scientists, etc.)
  • Ability to rigorously prioritize and articulate product roadmaps across teams and geographies.
  • Experience with large, complex, distributed systems, understanding technical architecture and infrastructure.
  • Understanding of statistical concepts and experience with large-scale A/B testing.
  • Ability to code in SQL, Python, or R is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills for various group sizes and strong product memos facilitating alignment.

Required Education

Undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering, data science, finance, economics, or related fields preferred. MBA is a plus.

Hiring Range:

  • Santa Monica, CA / Bristol, CT: $180,700 – $242,300 annually
  • San Francisco, CA: $197,900 - $242,300 annually
