The Configuration and Data Management (CDM) organization is dedicated to ensuring our products are under configuration control and delivered on time. This involves multiple disciplines supporting engineering, program offices, and customers throughout the product lifecycle from conception to deactivation. The CDM organization includes Effector CM (ECM), Data Management (DM/DEX), Software Configuration Management (SWCM), and Sensor CM (SCM).

Position Overview

The Data Management, Engineering Support, and Execution (DEX) department is seeking a Principal Data Manager (DM) for an onsite role. This position plays a crucial role in the lifecycle of our contracts, from identifying data deliverables to ensuring timely delivery to our customers.

What You Will Do

  • Identify contract-specific data deliverables.
  • Utilize a Product Data Management (PDM) system to build data tracks.
  • Coordinate with the Program Office to identify preparers, receive data within PDM, and ensure compliance.
  • Secure programmatic approval and deliver data on time throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Review sub-tier contractor requirements and manage supplier submissions.
  • Route and incorporate approvals into prime contractor deliverables.
  • Secure non-deliverable work products for configuration control in the PDM system.

What You Will Learn

  • Understanding contract-required data markings.
  • Running forecast reports for stakeholders.
  • Providing metrics on on-time deliveries and outstanding dispositions.
  • Reviewing and approving sub-tier supplier statements of work for data requirements.
  • Supporting program meetings and training personnel, customers, and suppliers.
  • Handling and protecting Company Intellectual Property (IP) and U.S. government IP and classified info.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree OR 4 years of relevant experience in absence of a degree.
  • 5 years of professional data management or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with government standards like EIA-649, GEIA-859.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR Advanced degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR 9 years of relevant experience in absence of a degree.
  • Capability to interpret scheduling and milestone requirements.
  • Strong business acumen, including planning, forecasting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in a team-based environment and strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience generating Data Management productivity metrics and reports.
  • Experience with estimating, proposing, and managing Data Management costs and schedules.
  • Proficiency in Windchill or similar PDM tools.
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certification and relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI).
  • Active DOD clearance.
