The Analytical Data Operations (ADO) division acts as Verisk/ISO's data processing center, guaranteeing that ISO's analytical machinery is aptly fueled. As a part of ADO, you'll be joining a team of data analysts, BI developers, data engineers, data architects, and actuarial and analytical engineers devoted to enhancing our data analytics platform that caters to a multitude of products the US P&C industry depends on.
Your role will be to serve as a subject matter expert for all data and related information connected to the line of business experience. You'll work side by side with other team leads and stakeholders to comprehend and elucidate industry trends and cultivate industry expertise across our product range. Furthermore, you'll work with our international data operations team to devise new tools to augment and enrich your team’s capacity to generate industry insights on a grand scale and stimulate real change in the US P&C insurance market.
You'll be part of a Shared Services model, where you'll be everyday handling stakeholder expectations and coordinating deliverables across junior staff. You are predicted to develop expertise in several lines of business, AGILE project management, and advanced analytics using SQL on our cloud data warehouse, positioning at the forefront of data analytics for the P&C industry. Your responsibilities include:
Direct collaboration with line of business stakeholders to understand business needs, collate, manipulate, and analyze data to deliver comprehensible insights that propel business decisions.
Analyze industry data for personal lines property coverages to pinpoint trends, anomalies, and data quality issues, ensuring product teams are aware of impacts to our analytics driven by industry experience.
Create data reports and visualizations using business intelligence and analytics software.
Head quarterly presentations with LOB stakeholders to discuss data analysis results, condensing and synthesizing analysis from junior team members, and recording key take aways from discussions.
Manage our data steward relationship with the insurance carriers, offering swift and significant analysis of their data to ensure their compliance with regulatory requirements and the suitability of our industry benchmark analytics to their business.
Guide organizational change in how we deliver results both internally and externally.
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM major or with STEM coursework learned in associated majors (Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics).
A minimum of three years P&C insurance data analysis experience with a focus on Commercial Property Lines.
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) are required, with a desire to improve presentation and persuasion skills.
A passion for using data and technology to comprehend the real world and stimulate change, emphasizing the importance of data quality.
Experience supervising junior team members and a strong record of building great stakeholder relationships.
Outstanding SQL, Excel/BI skills with a focus on data analysis.
A self-driven individual with a commitment to innovation and proactive problem-solving.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in Python, VBA, SAS, and R is preferred.
Commitment to attainment of an insurance professional designation (ACAS, CPCU, AIDM).
Commitment to attainment of a technology or project management designations.
