Position Overview

We seek a Public Health Data Analyst to support our client, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The primary role entails consulting, analytics, training, and development services, focusing on validation and evaluation activities for value-based purchasing and quality-reporting programs. Your expertise will generate actionable insights through detailed data analysis and public health knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and interpret analyses using SAS; summarize and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Import, manipulate, and analyze healthcare-quality measure data for descriptive and statistical purposes.
  • Collaborate on planning, developing, and implementing validation activities and quality measurement programs.
  • Collate, analyze, summarize, and visualize healthcare-quality measure data; ensure analytic deliverables' quality and accuracy.
  • Develop materials, review documentation, troubleshoot issues, and report results with attention to detail.
  • Communicate analytical findings effectively with clients, management, and staff.
  • Translate client needs into formal requirements and provide results to the project team and clients both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain expertise in the public-health field by staying updated on industry changes and trends.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of six years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in SAS and R for data import, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Experience managing large datasets, including data cleaning, aggregation, and quality control.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, suited to audiences with different technical expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with Python and/or Databricks.
  • Knowledge or experience in data modernization and working with CMS or other public health entities.
  • Background in government contracting.

Salary Information

Salary range: $90,000 - $110,000 annually.
