Job Description

Having a precise representation of its environment allows the autonomous vehicle to better understand the driving situation and make appropriate and safe decisions. The need for a precise HD map is due to the fact that the vehicle must perform millimeter maneuvers in a limited space.

The objective of this internship is, on one hand, to create a very precise map of a parking area by adding rich semantics that facilitate the use of the map by an autonomous vehicle, and on the other hand, the map should be created gradually from successive passages of various vehicles in the target area.

Work approach:

·State of the art on multi-view stereo vision and image/lidar data fusion.

·Familiarization with test equipment and the operational context.

·Definition of an evolving, object-oriented model, for describing the target environment.

·Definition of the design strategy.

·Development of algorithms.

·Evaluation tests.

Research report.

Qualifications

Stereo vision, data fusion, artificial intelligence, image processing.

Software development tools: Python, C/C++, ROS, Linux, Opencv.
