The Instrument Reference Data team is an integral part of the Data Solution Operations within our Securities Services Organization. Accessible data insights and analytic capabilities are crucial for driving our business and operations forward. This facilitates the identification of opportunities in operational processes and the development of effective strategies.

As a Data Engineer in our Business Intelligence & Analytics team, you will design, build, and maintain these capabilities. Collaborate closely with Operation SMEs and data strategists to deliver data insights and tools, creating data assets that add significant value to both the team and the wider business.

This role requires not only technical expertise but also strong analytical and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional global teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and deploy visualizations to empower the reference data team and clients, incorporating good UX design for intuitive data insights sharing.
  • Leverage Python/SQL to understand database design, relationships, and logic for sourcing data for visualizations.
  • Automate and execute all elements in a controlled environment, ensuring appropriate documentation.
  • Develop and maintain AI/ML models to achieve desired business outcomes.
  • Manage end-to-end projects, understand business requirements, and devise approaches.
  • Drive data quality initiatives, including change management, data analytics, and data quality-related projects.
  • Derive insights from dashboards, identify data quality themes, and collaborate with stakeholders to curate strategies for improvement.
  • Perform problem and root-cause analysis to refine inefficiencies, improving data quality and delivering value to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Science, or Technology, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in data modeling, data transformation, and visualization.
  • At least 2+ years of work experience in Financial Services.
  • Hands-on experience in developing end-to-end BI solutions using tools like JIRA/Confluence, Python, Alteryx, Tableau/Qlik/Power BI, and AWS.
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques such as Natural Language Processing, Clustering, Deep Learning, and advanced statistical techniques and concepts.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively within a team and across departments to drive conversations and extract required details.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail to formulate effective strategies and solutions addressing pain points and improving efficiency.
  • Advanced experience in designing, developing, maintaining, and deploying visualizations using PowerBI/Tableau/Qlik.
  • Advanced experience in writing advanced SQL and Python queries/code, and employing AI tools for BI&A.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles for financial services, including governance, quality, storage, modeling, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of financial instruments, corporate action events, and data vendors (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE, MSCI, etc.).
