Responsibilities

Management and Oversight

- Establish and develop the Reference Data Management teams aligned with the Firm’s Business strategy, including setting objectives, budgets, and business plans.
- Lead and manage the Reference Data Management department to ensure staff understand their roles, adhere to Firm policies, and embody the Firm’s values.
- Focus on talent management encompassing recruitment, retention, and development to meet stakeholder expectations.
- Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, ensuring comprehensive cooperation among various departments.
- Oversee projects and system enhancements, ensuring effective control and continuous process improvement.
- Develop team members’ skills, enhancing job performance and optimizing local talent.
- Identify, escalate, and resolve departmental issues effectively.
- Ensure compliance with Finance Policies and Procedures, maintaining relevance in business/market contexts.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
- Document control activities and methodologies to ensure task handover and auditability.
- Conduct analyses supporting Finance functions, including ad hoc tasks and written material presentations.

Reference Data Management

- Support all lines of business in reference data management (Market, Counterparty, Instrument, and Organizational Data).
- Review and analyze referential data from golden sources to downstream systems, ensuring data accuracy and feed enhancements.
- Maintain and improve data lifecycle to ensure reporting accuracy and data completeness.
- Develop strong controls and key risk indicators for stewarded data.
- Create robust procedures for data setup and distribution.
- Foster strong relationships with Front Office, Operations, Risk, Audit, Compliance, and Regulatory departments to fulfill needs and regulations.

Controls & Compliance

- Manage the Reference Data Management department, ensuring adherence to internal risk and compliance requirements.
- Uphold the Firm’s values, prioritizing client needs and market integrity.
- Stay informed on key market and regulatory developments, attending training as necessary.
- Ensure department compliance with Company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage responsibilities in line with Company policies, ensuring staff are trained and understand their roles, including job descriptions, personal development plans, and performance appraisals.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in data governance, data quality, data management, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of data governance principles, frameworks, methodologies, and tools.
- Proven experience in coordinating data governance activities.
- Skilled in data policies, standards, procedures, and controls.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The typical base pay range for this role is between $133K - $164K, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonuses and/or incentive compensation. Additionally, MUFG offers a comprehensive Total Rewards package, including:
