About the College of Research

The Strategic Programs & Initiatives (SP&I) department within UC's Office of Research provides essential infrastructure and support for faculty and students. SP&I fosters collaboration across disciplines, cultivates research partnerships, and enhances competitiveness for prestigious awards. Our mission: to advance scientific exploration, creative expression, and the production of new knowledge.

Job Overview: Research Data Analyst

The Research Data Analyst will leverage information, mathematical, and analytical methods to support UC's research leadership in making data-driven strategic decisions. The role includes analyzing research opportunities to enhance research advancement.

Essential Functions

  • Enhance information modeling, simulation, and visualization
  • Design, develop, and maintain research-focused information databases
  • Perform statistical and mathematical programming
  • Assist with assessment studies and analysis of academic and non-academic topics
  • Conduct survey research analysis, including data compilation and visualization
  • Perform peer institution analysis and benchmarking
  • Provide low-level departmental IT support and liaison services
  • Offer direct/indirect supervision to staff as needed
  • Perform related duties based on departmental needs

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Statistics, Math, Computer Science, or a related field. Alternatively, seven years of relevant work experience and/or specialized training can suffice.

Required Experience

At least three years of experience managing large data sets, utilizing statistical techniques and software, and reporting data meaningfully.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Standard office environment with no unusual physical or environmental demands.
