About the Role:

Position: Research Engineer - Computer Vision - Fundamental AI Research (FAIR)

Meta is at the forefront of Artificial Intelligence, pushing the boundaries with our Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) Team. We are excited to invite a skilled Research Engineer with a solid background in computer vision to contribute to our groundbreaking projects. This role is perfect for someone passionate about harnessing the power of AI to solve engaging and crucial research challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop scalable algorithms leveraging machine learning and neural network methodologies.
  • Work collaboratively with FAIR scientists on pioneering research in self-supervised learning and computer vision.
  • Handle experimental design, implementation, and the evaluation and analysis of research outcomes.
  • Utilize your deep knowledge of relevant research domains and expert coding skills in platform and framework development initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • Master's Degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of industry experience specifically in computer vision and/or deep learning.
  • Demonstrable research proficiency in computer vision, video understanding, and/or self-supervised learning.
  • Proficiency in developing machine learning algorithms or infrastructure using Python and PyTorch.
  • Appropriate work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintenance of said authorization during employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in industry, academia, or government labs in computer vision and/or deep learning.
  • Strong publication record in prestigious conferences such as ICCV, CVPR, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, etc.
  • Experience as a software engineer demonstrated through previous work experience.

Compensation: US$177,008/year to US$251,000/year, plus bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
