Now, the College of Medicine is seeking a passionate and resourceful Research Fellow to join our Department of Biostatistics, Health Informatics & Data Science.

Job Overview

The selected candidate will delve into the intricacies of research methods, project management, and data analysis up to 21 hours per week. Reporting directly to Dr. Danny T.Y. Wu, Director of the iCDCU, your focus will be on developing vital informatics solutions to clinical and health challenges.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Lead the coordination of groundbreaking studies in clinical and health informatics while adhering to both institutional and federal guidelines.
  • Independently contribute to and manage projects leveraging your professional expertise.
  • Handle data collection and execute detailed statistical and visual data analysis.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of complex data processing systems.
  • Support the drafting of manuscripts and project proposals while working collaboratively within a dynamic team.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance skills relevant to the department’s goals.

Required Education and Skills

A Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Sciences, Health Sciences, or a related field is required.

Ideal candidates will also have:

  • Experience in informatics research and co-authorship of peer-reviewed publications.
  • Practical knowledge in data manipulation (Python Pandas, SQL), EHRs, PGHD, statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and qualitative methods.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The role involves typical office environment activities with a considerable need for sitting, talking, and listening. Occasional bending, standing, and walking is also required along with the lifting of light loads (up to 20 pounds).
