About the Role

At Meta, we are on the lookout for skilled researchers and applied scientists to enhance our Core Data Science team. This multidisciplinary group utilizes quantitative research to drive innovation across our products and operations, significantly influencing Meta's advancement.

Key Responsibilities

As a Research Scientist in Central Applied Science, you will:

• Analyze extensive datasets and develop research questions that advance the state-of-the-art in data science.
• Create groundbreaking quantitative methods utilizing Meta's robust data infrastructure.
• Set and pursue long-term research goals, focusing on actionable milestones.
• Share your expertise in quantitative analysis with internal partners.
• Work both independently and in collaboration with other scientists, engineers, UX researchers, and product managers.
• Proactively explore new ways to contribute to Meta’s data science initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical field.
• Advanced degree (MS with 4+ years of experience or PhD) in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Published work in Machine Learning, AI, Computer Science, Statistics, or similar fields.
• Proficiency in data analysis with Python or R and development of algorithms in languages like Python, C, C++, or Java.
• Experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.
• Familiarity with large data analysis tools like Presto, Hive, or Spark.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment.

Compensation and Benefits

Meta offers a competitive salary of $146,994 to $208,000 per year, contingent on experience and location, plus bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
