Minimum Qualifications:

- Experience in submitting scientific publications for conferences, journals, or public repositories.
- Proficiency in one or more of the following areas: multi-agent systems, algorithmic mechanisms or market design, recommender systems, reinforcement learning or active learning, and generative AI.

Preferred Qualifications:

- At least 2 years of coding experience.
- Minimum of 1 year in leading and initiating research agendas.
- Strong background in Machine Learning methods.
- Programming skills in C, C++, or Python.
- An established publication record.

About the Role

As a Research Scientist within Google Research, you'll engage in a mixture of research activities and hands-on development, contributing to a broad array of dynamic projects. Here, you have the freedom to prioritize the type of work—from fundamental research, product innovation, to direct contributions to strategic infrastructure goals.

Your work will involve setting up large-scale experiments, rapid prototyping, and deploying promising technologies across various realms of computer science including, but not limited to, machine learning, data mining, NLP, hardware and software performance analysis, and core search technologies.

Beyond the internal contributions, you'll also share your findings with the global research community to continue fostering an environment of collaborative growth. Collaborations with top universities and technical institutes worldwide are part of this inspiring role.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this full-time position in the US is $136,000 to $200,000. This range is complemented by a competitive package including bonuses, equity options, and comprehensive benefits. Exact salary is dependent on location, skills, experience, and education.
