Opportunity Overview

We're excited to announce an opening for a talented Research Scientist with a focus on Mobile Optimization. In this critical role, you will join our Mobile Telepresence team, pioneers in mobile optimization for enhanced telepresence with high energy efficiency. Your work will directly influence the performance and deployment of future Meta ARVR products and push the boundaries of mobile efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and develop advanced optimization algorithms to improve energy efficiency on mobile computing platforms.
• Design and enhance the optimization flow for telepresence models, integrating seamlessly with native toolchains for accelerated deployment on upcoming ARVR platforms.
• Collaborate with AI and telepresence researchers to refine algorithms, balancing performance between image distortion and transmission latency.
• Guide product architecture and hasten the deployment of telepresence solutions incorporating both standard and proprietary hardware solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, with the degree completed prior to joining.
• Currently obtaining or already holding a PhD in fields such as computer vision, machine learning, or artificial intelligence.
• At least 1 year of relevant industry or research experience.
• Expertise in C/C++ and Python programming, and familiarity with GPU, CPU, and AI hardware accelerator architectures.
• Experience in optimizing AI-driven applications for edge devices.
• Familiarity with development frameworks like OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow Lite, and ONNX.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge in embedded systems, Linux OS, and Android app development.
• Experience in custom compiler design and graphics programming with OpenGL or Vulkan.
• Background in optimizing algorithms for Qualcomm SoCs is advantageous.
