About the Role

We are at the forefront of building the foundational behavioral model for Amazon Stores using Large Language Models (LLM) and large model training techniques. Our aim is to fuse general world knowledge with Amazon e-commerce domain knowledge to enhance customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quickly learn cutting-edge technologies and algorithms in the field of Generative AI and LLMs.
  • Develop and maintain key platforms for the development, evaluation, and deployment of LLMs for real-world applications.
  • Collaborate with team members to investigate design approaches, prototype new technologies, and assess technical feasibility.
  • Work closely with applied scientists to process massive data and scale machine learning models while optimizing performance.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling)
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, Spark MMLib, Tensorflow
  • Experience in developing machine learning models and ML model training/inference optimization

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Experience with LLM training/inference optimization at the algorithm level
  • Experience with LLM training/inference optimization at the system level: KV cache optimization, Quantization, etc.
  • Experience with PyTorch operations, memory, communication, and/or data loading optimization at scale
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographical market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on various factors including market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
