Role and Responsibilities

As a Senior AI Engineer specializing in Imitation Learning, you will:

• Develop advanced imitation learning algorithms, including diffusion policies, to enable robots to perform autonomous actions using demonstrations and real-time sensor data.
• Design, test, and refine algorithms to tackle complex autonomy and manipulation tasks.
• Create datasets for imitation learning from human demonstrations or automated expert algorithms.
• Enhance workflows to efficiently expand imitation learning datasets with new tasks.
• Collaborate with the reinforcement learning team to explore methods that utilize both simulated and real-world data.
• Deploy optimized code for real robots, considering computational constraints.
• Lead, build, and mentor a team of exceptional software engineers.
• Provide expert guidance to product managers and executives for strategic decision-making.
• Create and maintain documentation, guidelines, and best practices for efficient knowledge sharing.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you should have:

• A Master’s degree or higher in Engineering, Robotics, or Machine Learning.
• At least three years of industry or research experience (PhD experience is a plus).
• Strong fundamentals in deep learning, including supervised learning, self-supervised learning, neural network architectures, policy optimization algorithms, imitation learning, and generative AI techniques such as Diffusion Models (e.g., DALL-E 2, Stable Diffusion) and Diffusion Policy.
• A solid background in robotics, with a focus on autonomy and manipulation.
• Experience deploying artificial neural networks on hardware platforms.
• Proficiency in writing production-level code in modern C++ and prototyping algorithms and training deep neural networks in Python.

Bonus Points

• PhD in Robotics, Engineering, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent research experience.
• Publications in top-tier conferences.
• Experience in managing a software team.
