What you'll do
- You will design and maintain data models, schemas, and databases that support analytics and reporting requirements, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
- You will closely cooperate with our Data Engineers to understand our data sources and the information we are extracting from them.
- You will collaborate with data analysts and business teams to discern their requirements, interpret them into data needs, and furnish them with well-structured and easily maintainable data sets.
- You will write and optimize SQL queries for data manipulation and analysis, ensuring efficient and prompt access to data.
- You will implement data quality checks and validation procedures to ensure data accuracy and reliability in reporting.
- You will maintain our documentation of business entities, metric and dimension definitions, and spread your knowledge throughout the company.
- You will ensure data security and compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR) when dealing with sensitive data.
- You will tackle complex data-related problems, troubleshoot issues and implement efficient solutions to maintain data integrity and availability.
- You will provide direction and mentorship to junior members of the analytics team, promoting skill advancement and growth.
Who we are looking for
- You possess experience in data modeling and implementation of dimensional models and star-schemas (3NF and data vault 2.0 would be a plus).
- You are proficient in writing SQL code, and you have experience in Python.
- You are familiar with data transformation and database management tools, particularly dbt.
- You possess strong analytic capabilities and are an adaptable and creative team player.
- You have demonstrated your ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- You have significant experience in the field of Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering or Data Analytics, ideally within the e-commerce industry.
- You are highly self-organized and interested in taking ownership and guiding the team towards the optimal solution.
